Вопрос к разработчикам (question for developers)

Я загрузила нужный мне словарь Practical Chinese Reader, но программа гоняет почему-то по словам из других словарей (HSK 1, 2; Integrated Chinese 1)... Почему? Как убрать эту ошибку?
Словари HSK 1, 2 и Integrated Chinese 1 были загружены мной ранее, но убраны из изучаемого. Во вкладке Lists You Are Studying остались только нужные мне словари...

In english, please:

I Adding New Practical Chinese Reader in "Lists You Are Studying", but the programm do not use it. It use characters from HSK 1, 2; Integrated Chinese 1. I don`t understand why...
Maybe, becouse the HSK 1, 2 and the Integrated Chinese 1 was added in Lists, and after that deleted from there? I don`t wont to learn HSK or IC... What am I to do?

Now in Lists I have only New Practical Chinese Reader and Practical Chinese Reader...

Words are currently added from lists when you have little to study. I think the reason words haven't been added from New Practical Chinese Reader is because you still have some to study (about 100 items just now). Once you finish those, it will start adding from lists you currently have selected or from your Queue if you have anything in there.

And even when you have stopped adding from a list, the program still gives you everything that you've added previously to study. You can remove individual words by going to the lists, selecting the words, and pressing the 'Ignore' button. Alternatively we can delete all your account data so you can start over. At the moment though you cannot remove a list from study all at once.

We're going to be making some additions and changes to the way users control what they study, to make it easier to manage.

ok, I will finish first lesson from HSK.
But, I think, it will be easier for users if the lessons (or vocabulary lists) will change at once, without completing previous lesson.

Thank you for info.

Well, here's what we're thinking.

We want Skritter to be the most efficient tool at learning Chinese. That is our number one priority and the first thing we consider when making decisions. Studying Chinese is often inefficient for people because of how quickly they forget what they've learned because there's so much to remember. To address this, we use spaced repetition which schedules reviews indefinitely, farther and farther apart. So whenever a user adds a word or character to learn, the assumption is they will continue to learn that for as long as they use this site to make very sure they never forget it. So even when you have added all of a list and you essentially have the whole thing learned well, all those words and characters from that list continue to show up, although much less and less often as time goes on.

Given all this, we wanted to rebuild the system to be optimized with the assumption that everything added will be studied forever more. So in this new system it's now harder to remove an entire list from study so that users are encouraged towards this continuous learning goal. If you turn off a list that you've already spent so much time on so you don't continue to work on those words they will fade away unless there's some other way you're reinforcing them. To be the most efficient, you need a good mix of old and new things to review.

Of course there are various scenarios where you do need to remove things from study. If you're a good way through a list and you want to jump into a new list, perhaps the best compromise is to remove the last few things from that list that were added that you haven't spent much time on anyway, but continue to study those things you added at the beginning while you start adding from the new list. By continuing to put in a smaller amount of time towards the old list, the time you put into those words is not wasted.

We're adding more ways to address other times when you need to have more control over what you study. We'll be adding back Cram mode and the Ignore button on the practice page in the not too distant future. We added the Save Me button for when you have too much to study. And I'm about to start working on making it possible to delete an entire section or list from study for those (hopefully rare) times when you want to stop studying a whole swath of things.

So that's some of the thought behind a lot of our design decisions. What do you guys think?

Oh! So many words! Such a big text for one simple idea... I have not read up till the end of the text. ^_^ brevity is the soul of wit ^_^

Sorry, if I hurt you.

I think, it`s great idea! But, please delete all my account data. Thank you.

Not at all! You just touched on a topic that's been on my mind, and I am interested in what others think, so I wanted to launch a discussion about it.

I'm looking forward to the changes. I myself recently tried to get out of the radicals list, because I was over the first 100 (or so) and realised that I would prefer concentrating on the hsk lists (now that they are all there, I want to get through them;). However, I do on a regular basis get pestered by tons of radicals which I don't care that much about (in particular the tons)....so when I can switch those off, hurray:)

thanks for your reply Scott, that was pretty much what I emailed you about. It really clears up the intentions of SRS.
