Skritter not syncing

danhonda   January 2nd, 2014 2:15a.m.

Skritter stopped syncing a few hours ago and hasn't synced. Checked the sync logs and it keeps saying "Timeout - retry" and "Sync interrupted"

I reported the sync problem but now have no idea what to do. Any advice? I'm worried that if this goes on for longer than a few days I'm going to have a crazy amount of reviews to catch up on.

Yep same for me here. I guess we have to stay local on one device and sync when it works again?

danhonda   January 2nd, 2014 3:20a.m.

welp. it got fixed. hope yours did too

I'm so glad I'm not the only one with this problem. For me, sync started hanging / perpetually restarting on 30 December (on the iPhone). It's continuing to hang/restart right now. I've been getting the same error messages in the sync log as danhonda. Like truando, I can only use Skritter by staying local (in my case, with the iPhone, enabling Airplane Mode — not ideal because then you're cut off from calls and text messages as long as you're studying).

Glad to hear it started working for you, Dan! Is anyone else still encountering this issue?

I've today made an improvement to an error I was seeing in the logs, but that wouldn't have explained all of this. act29, you're still seeing the same "Timeout - retry" and "Sync interrupted" messages?

snowcreature99   January 2nd, 2014 9:59p.m.

Had the same yesterday (Jan 1), back to normal today (Jan 2). Endless stream of timeout-retry and sync interrupted.

Seemed tied to the actual device - since it only happened with one of my two iOS devices, and kept happening even if I entirely deleted the app, rebooted and then reinstalled Skritter.

I had the same issue, but figured out a solution: reinstall the app. When using the skritter app, make sure you sync it BEFORE closing the program.

I hope this helps!
