Dealing with vacations/time away from Skritter

GrandPoohBlah   July 27th, 2011 10:24a.m.

Hi guys,
I'm going to go on a vacation with my family in a couple weeks, and even if those plans are cancelled, then I'll probably have to take a break from Skritter sooner or later. What is the best method to prevent my being buried under a mountain of reviews when I return? I'm guessing that I should suspend adding new words a few days before I leave, and then use the "save me" feature when I return, but I'm sure you Skritterers have some other tricks up your sleeves...

I was wondering the same thing too. It's so annoying about the mountain of reviews coming back from vacation. And more annoying that there's no iPhone skritter app to use on vacations so that I don't come back to a mountain of reviews.

If Skritter had an iPhone app, I think I would buy an iPhone just to use Skritter and a dictionary on the go, since the iPhone is only $50 now.

That has a few links to another faq entry and a couple forum threads that you may find useful!

Thanks! I thought I read the FAQ thoroughly, but I guess I didn't after all.

yeah I read through the same thing but sometimes "overpracticing" before or after a break may not be possible. The real solution is an iPhone app.........

Or you could buy an Android device as Skritter already works on Android.

Yeah, but only if you have an internet connection, so still not that helpful if you're travelling in Ethiopia for three weeks as I plan to do later this year.

I don't mean to add to the griping; I know Nick is working hard on the app. I just bought a cheap Android device in China solely for skrittering purposes, and if I can ever get flash to work on it then I'm sure it will be great, but it still won't be as great as an iPod app.

I already have iPhones throughout my whole family here and we're all waiting for the iPhone skritter app....ah well too late to buy an Android, I don't think I could add an Android to my AT&T plan.....
