New wacom tablets

Intuos 5 tablets have been announced/demoed

Looks like the intuos models are now touch sensitive as well.

And all intuos 4 pens work with intuos 5 and a new matte rubberised surface.

I'm going to very very tempted when tax refund time comes around. Currently using a intuos (original model) 12x12 at home, bamboo pen and touch at work.

When it comes to heavy skritter usage, do you find there is any difference between using the intuos and the bamboo?

alxx   March 1st, 2012 10:12p.m.

intuos doesn't wear(or hasn't worn) compared to the bamboo and the pen is more comfortable.

I got the intuos mid last year(same time as the bamboo) second hand from ebay

On heavy usage - I've been using the ios app more than the tablets as it means I can skritter anywhere rather than just sitting in front of the computer

Haven't really noticed much of a difference between them.

OK. Thanks for the info. I'll stick with the bamboo as the wear doesn't actually seem to affect performance.

Hey,

I woukd to buy a tablet PC to skritter anywhere I want. Primarily, I'm considering to buy an ipad. Is an iPad as such skritter-compatible?

Best

The iPad will be a good choice once the app comes out http://www.skritter.com/ios . I've used Skritter on the eee pad transformer and it just wasn't as good as the PC with a wired tablet.

I find the heavily stylized characters on my eeepad off-putting. Is that an android thing?

Elwin   March 17th, 2012 11:30a.m.

@Grahameh

actually I've also had the weirdest of fonts on my iPod Touch, even my Chinese girlfriend has never seen fonts like that before. Really disappointing that Apple makes such a mistake of font input and there's no update for it. But now I've become good at guessing which character looks the closest to my attempt, maybe that's a positive...

I think android is more flexible, maybe you can change the font.
