Do you find yourself Skrittering at work?

Looking back on the week I've spent at least 30 minutes of my time on Skritter during work each day. People seem to walk by and notice it all the time, but I don't think people consider studying Chinese to be "not working".

I do the same, perhaps even more time each day. It's a good way to pass the time between calls (IT Helpdesk), and no one has said anything about it being 'not working.'

Haha awesome! I also work in an IT Helpdesk/Development position. I anticipate my time each day to increase pending more things to review daily.

I actually only Skritter at work (1 or 2h) for these following good reasons

- 2x24 HD Screen
- Wacom Tablet
- SPACE
- Food
- Aircon (still 28° here)
- Ikea chair

Of course I'm a part of the management team thus I can do whatever I want during my time :p

Yep, I do. But that's only after all my grading is done and my lesson plans for the next two weeks are all set. When those things aren't done, it's still a temptation, though... ;)

@Tortue: I have dual monitors at work too (not as nice through) but it really brings new meaning to multi-tasking. I have Skritter up on one and a coding window up in the other haha.

Glad to see others are getting paid to study Chinese too, it is a great feeling!

@Tortue: Are you trying to imply the Skritter experience is better with a 24" HD screen, because I can see how all the others would lead to a better Skrittering experience for me :) (Well I'm just beyond the need for aircon now)

Tortue   November 22nd, 2009 2:40a.m.

@Hobbes

My point was that it's because I have all these nice stuff at work (that I don't have at home) that I prefer work over there. I should have said that I prefer work at my office desk (but not necessarily during work , usually after 8pm) than my home one :)

2x24 HD screen doesn't improve the Skritter experience dramatically, it's just more comfortable than my 15.4' MBP one and as Mcfarljw said, it allows multi-tasking.

What a nice thread! I count studying on Skritter as "work", but I don't often get more than 30 minutes a day (usually I get distracted by some bug I find while practicing after a few minutes).

I have four screens set up here and it certainly attracts me to my chair. Not that we have a separate office here at Skritter HQ. I have Skritter set up as a Chrome application and it only takes up 6.4% of my screen space.
