Troubling strokes

DaXia   March 18th, 2011 4:57a.m.

There are some strokes that I think are bugged, and all of them are 横折 strokes, like:

The 横折钩 stroke, the second stroke in 用,月,etc

The 横折 stroke, like the second stroke in 口

The 横折弯 stroke, like the second stroke in 几 and 殳

The 横折弯钩 stroke, like the second stroke in 九.

These strokes sometimes are almost impossible to write, because they always have to be at an exact location or something, and it's been like this for a long time. Is it something that you guys are working at?

我也一样。

Judee   March 18th, 2011 8:02a.m.

i have trouble with the 5th stroke in 没 too. :(

Lawnmower16   March 18th, 2011 12:25p.m.

Same here. I'm constantly having to mark words correct after I failed them because I wasn't writing it exactly right. It also seems to happen with the second (curved) stroke in 心 radicals for me. It's like unless you draw it just perfectly, it won't register.

When you see a recognition problem like this, drop us a line with the feedback box. We tally up the reports so we know which strokes need attention, and every once in a while I dive into the code and do some manual tuning on the problem stroke recognizers to get them to perform better. It helps if you describe how you're writing the stroke that it's not recognizing, or better yet, email a screenshot to me (nick@.com).

I've put these ones on the list. Thanks, guys.

Bohan   March 18th, 2011 10:46p.m.

hmmm, I haven't had any issues with any of those

SpokeLee   March 18th, 2011 11:16p.m.

I absolutely despise the 7th stroke in 要

arp   March 19th, 2011 5:20a.m.

Except for one, none of these have been problematic for me. However, I do consistently have a problem with the one that Judee mentions; fifth stroke in 没.

Hummelshoj   March 19th, 2011 1:28p.m.

I have problems with the second last stroke of 建 or 健
It seems as it sometimes count the last part 廴 as 3 strokes
