Is it possible to reset 'Progress' on words, and start again?

musoboy78   November 1st, 2014 3:25a.m.

Hey all Skrits... Returning after a while away, and I'm wishing to start revising from the beginning of my textbook course, that I was halfway through, before having some time off learning. I would like to catch up on where I got up to, and refresh all the words I've previously learnt (and forgotten), before renewing my subscription and adding new words!

My problem is I can't seem to reset my 'Progress' - in terms of the fact that Skritter thinks I've learnt all these characters, and won't give them to me to learn again. i.e. When I did learn them, before my absence and brain forgot some of them, they all became dark green (learned), and pushed out of my regular learning schedule - and this is the way most of them are still.

Is there a way to wipe the slate clean in 'Progress', and start fresh revisions - without having to wipe/delete the entire course, renew my subscription, and start adding words from the beginning?

There is an option to delete all the learned words. I don't see a way to do it on the iOS app, only through the website. If you log in to the website and then go to "My Words", on the left is an option that says "delete all". This will remove all words and characters from your account and leave you with a fresh slate. If you are using a mobile device, you may have to go into the app afterwards and do a "clear local data" which is at the bottom of the "settings" / "account" section.
Edit: I think this may only be a partial solution for you though....you'd still have to re-add the words, but you would not have to set up a new account.

That's kind of what I am trying to avoid, by deleting all the words and starting again, means I would need to renew my subscription a little earlier than I would like, given the vast amount I need to review and refresh...!! ;)

I was out for two years and I had 4000 tasks waiting. If you simply continue clearing the tasks they come to you finally. Every time a saw a longtimer, I hit red if I knew it or not, so that they all returned to circulation. It´s always easy to then mark the really easy ones "too easy" later.

On the web site, in the info box that you see when you click on an individual word in a list, there is a "Reset Stats" button. This button was added sometime within the last couple of months. Unfortunately, it sounds like clicking this button for each word you want to reset would take too long, and the "Word Actions" dropdown menu that affects all checked words does not have "Reset Stats."

Hmmm, I'm not seeing anything in Firefox or Safari that comes up with a 'reset stats' option...? mjv, what browser are you using? I don't mind the tedium of resetting all the words, plus it's a good visual refresher before I start Skritting them again.

Is it possible for you to take a screenshot of where this mystery option is hiding?! :/

When studying an item, click on the magnifying glass in the upper right. This opens an information panel about the item. There is a red "Reset Stats" button midway down the panel.

From the "My Words" list you just click on a character or word to see its information panel.

Thanks Kai, I would never have found that as I don't use the study section on the laptop, only on the iSkritter with a stylus!!

Discovered it is a little tedious now - with loading times. Skritter Overlords, any chance of getting a 'Batch Reset Stats' option happening?? ;)

I second this request, I would very much like to have a 'Batch Reset Stats' option in Skritter!

definitely third the request for "batch reset stats", same as can batch ban and unban words in the lists
