Now in alpha! Testers can go to forum posts and click on the names of people and see some info about them and look at what else they've said lately on the forum, and how much they've said. So far Nick is the clear leader in terms of forum loquaciousness but James might be giving him a run for his money.

This is to sate a couple of requests made last year ( http://www.skritter.com/forum/topic?id=41793189&comments=5 ) and to lay the groundwork for more community based things happening in the more distant future, like leaderboards and badges.

We thought about having more fields for you to fill out that could be put in there, like your website or your twitter account or your skype name, but we decided instead for the time being to have one big entry you can put anything you want into, called "About Me". Much more free form.

Let us know what you think!

Excellent! That is AWESOME. Already knowing that my stats are public makes me want to study more.

One suggestion would be to keep people's statistics private until they opt in to make them public. You don't want to have a Google Buzz kind of situation where people get upset during the launch of this feature because you made their private data public.

Or, an opt out/private profile option. Looks good though!

Looks very good indeed. I agree with James though. Maybe give users a notice to turn it on, but keep it private by default.

This is a step in the right direction.

Hey all thanks for your thoughts! We've decided to add a privacy option for accounts as a result. Profiles are temporarily disabled while we introduce this new setting first. More info in the blog:

Wisely done!
