How to study from the Queue?

rootless   July 3rd, 2011 1:40p.m.

Hi,

I'm using this Chrome program:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/kkmlkkjojmombglmlpbpapmhcaljjkde

to try to add new vocab to Skritter, for later memorization. It says they were added to my "Queue" and I can see them when I click on browse through Queue.

However, I don't understand how you actually Study words from the queue.

Any help would be appreciated.

PS. I just noticed you're saying you're replacing the Queue soon. I hope you don't delete the word lists on there!

Thanks.

Words from the queue will be added automatically, in the same way words from vocab lists are added!

Right. There's more info here, too:

We won't be deleting the words in the queue--just transferring them over to a "default" list, which will give you more flexibility in managing those words.

@nick I can't wait. The Queue will not be missed.

I find the queue very handy to supplement textbooks. I adding in all the unknown words that Chinese friends use in messages on qq, that kind of thing. But I got a shock when I noticed there were 2800 words in my queue! Now I think twice before adding to the queue and I'm trying to whittle it down. I presume I'll have the same functionality and more with this new-fangled "default" list when it arrives :-) .

I supposedly have 6,384 items in my queue. I don't believe it, as the number doesn't seem to go down as I study.

The queue is great (although functionality could be improved, mainly in that you can't skip to the end when editing). I have 700 items (350 words) in mine at the moment, and all but the latest ones all have custom definitions and pictures added so I don't slow down when I come to them in practice.

Works great for me.

I guess I should have been a little clearer.

The queue works for its intended purpose, but when you compare it to a custom list it lacks many features, particularly when you have many items in your queue. So I will be very happy when the queue is turned into a special kind of custom list and we can deal with it as just another list.
