Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

Problem logging in and in browser detection

I am having a problem using either skritter.cn or skritter.com. When I use Chrome (12.0.742.122) or Safari (5.1) from my newly updated to Lion MacBook. The sites both imply I am using Internet Explorer and complain about lack of compatibility. When I ignore that and try to log in I get redirected another login page - no success.

So for me, Skritter is down.

Hmm... Something fishy going on. This behavior does away when I use my VPN. I noticed another sight acting strange, as if I was being forced through a bad (poorly functioning, not necessarily evil) proxy somehow. Or it is something in OS X Lion? Doubtful.

Anyway, probably not a site issue.

Please let me know your user agent string when on and off your VPN:

http://whatsmyuseragent.com/

This will help me figure out why it thinks you're on IE!

Sara told me that you guys figured out it was a change the IT guys made at the school you were at, so that makes more sense now. Hope to see you back soon when that gets resolved.

Yep, that was the issue. Works fine now.
