Changing the way pronunciation and meaning are shown

Hey, there are more than a few times when the a change in pronunciation or tone changes the meaning of a character. Although skritter does link pronuciations and meanings, it is not very clear. So if, instead of doing this:

xiāng, xiàng - each other; mutually; reciprocal, picture; appearance; minister

if it was done more like this:

xiāng - each other;one another;mutually
xiàng - appearance;portrait;picture

it would be much clearer, and hopefully lead to a better understanding.

i like the suggestion... I had noticed the multiple pronunciations and meanings matching, but only on a couple where I already knew both pairs already... so I agree that it could be more obvious/helpful for learning.

Nice.

Sounds like a lot of work, but ultimately it would be very very helpful to learners.

The time it would take is a problem. The skritter boys only have so many hands, and I think at the mo they could be turned to more productive work, like expanding the number of characters the site supports. So for now this idea could just be used on the new characters added and then slowy expanded to the rest as and when there is time.

It'd be complicated to mix the reading and definition fields. What if instead of displaying a comma as the delimiter between corresponding definitions, I used a newline, in those cases where there is a clear distinction?
