Hi everyone, is on skrytter for android the dictation mode? I'd like to buy a subsription for my new chinese pad....

I'm sorry, I don't understand your question.

Skritter for Android is currently just an Android-compatible version of the site which uses Android's Flash Player.

There isn't a dictation mode, Skritter is for writing characters...

I’m not sure if this is what what the poster was trying to get across but I had a similar question which I might as well add here.

Is there an option to have Skritter speak the word first and then have you write?

I constantly test myself in this fashion, with either someone testing me or if necessary, using Pleco on the iPhone speak the words and I write on paper.

My daughter is tested in this fashion as well but with the addition of phrases, and might find using Skritter a fun alternative to a rather dull activity. She might also find it a valuable tool for reviewing in this fashion.

If you have tone practice off, or if a writing prompt comes up for review independently of the tone, then it will say the word to prompt you with it (assuming it has the audio for the word). You get to see the pinyin at the same time--is that a problem?
