Skritter when durnk

DaXia   November 3rd, 2011 4:25a.m.

I am currently heavely intoxiated, and I have realised that my writing skills have decreased with aboutb 300%. This mya be because my motorskills arent functionibg normally, but I also seem to have a hrad time remebering characres. Although I feel that my sopken chinees is better than ever.

葛修远   November 3rd, 2011 5:06a.m.

Sounds like you should try Glucozade Port:

That makes sense. When drunk, people are able to speak more easily but are unable to remember things. If all you do is review then you should have a good idea of which characters you really know and which you just sort of know. When you see new characters they probably aren't going to stay in your brain at all.

FatDragon   November 3rd, 2011 6:21a.m.

I feel like the Skritter forum just got drunk-dialed and the message was surprisingly relevant.

Elwin   November 3rd, 2011 8:17a.m.

Durnk.skritter.com with special settings so that it doesn't mess up our stats for the next morning, please.

nick   November 3rd, 2011 9:44a.m.

This thread has both Scott and me cracking up. I would love to see some screencasts of durnken Skrittering with some nice durnken Chinees narration.

sjackson   November 3rd, 2011 12:05p.m.

Hahhahaha, this is great. So analytical too. I only wish I could hear the improved "sopken chinees" Reminds me of trying to code while drunk...

I usually end up with huge rambling comment blocks of code trying to figure out what I'm doing, with no actual code.

mcfarljw   November 3rd, 2011 12:24p.m.

Don't forget to give us the follow up comparison on Skrittering drunk and the following morning when hungover! I should think Skrittering drunk would be much more enjoyable.

dfoxworthy   November 3rd, 2011 12:32p.m.

I had a friend in college who did all his homework drunk, and never remembered doing it. He'd just wake up the next day and it would be finished. He claimed it was flawless too. Nick might want to put up a sign somewhere that says 酒後不要寫字 though.

aharlekyn   November 3rd, 2011 2:09p.m.

Hahaha! Love the analytically approach!

DaXia   November 4th, 2011 8:15a.m.

I have no memory of ever creating this thread. I didn't have access to a computer yesterday so I must have written this on my phone hence all the typo:s.
Hmm...

junglegirl   November 4th, 2011 8:26a.m.

Ha ha, I think typing on your phone was probably not the only reason for the typos. How's the hangover?

DaXia   November 4th, 2011 9:24a.m.

:P
I usually don't get that bad hangovers, but my stomach is inside out and I feel 头晕目眩.

Nice stats btw!

"Characters 4294969388 learned"

:D

Must be some kind of bug

scott   November 4th, 2011 9:36a.m.

junglegirl is one of our alpha testers for the iOS app.

Either:

1. There is a bug that does some pretty messed up things to peoples' stats which is why being an alpha tester is living on the wild side

OR

2. The app is *just that good*

Elwin   November 4th, 2011 9:45a.m.

Hey Scott, why don't I have that genius bug?:(

@DaXia props for making it to the skritter forum in that kind of state, we should have more ppl who do that lol. Get better soon!

junglegirl   November 4th, 2011 9:57a.m.

Yeah, Nick tells me he's working on the stats bug, so I guess my genius powers will only be temporary.

Elwin   November 4th, 2011 10:02a.m.

You better do a print screen now in case you wanna claim future Skritter prizes.

princessmarisa   November 6th, 2011 8:02a.m.

When I was drunk in Japan I could chat for much longer with confidence and seemed to remember far more vocab.
When it came to reading signs/labels though I would say I was about the same. Pity I didn't attempt to write anything whilst drunk then to see how that was effected.

xiaobill   November 6th, 2011 10:39a.m.

I agree with Princessmarisa. I remember being able to talk a lot more at 飲み会 a lot more than any other time. Well, that and between オタク同士。 Good times, Japan. Good times.

~ah~!!!! 日本に戻りたいな!!!!!!!

JakubED2   November 6th, 2011 1:05p.m.

Haha this thread is amusing.

Totally agree, when speaking Chinese drunk yesterday, I felt like I could suddenly understand most of the things and speak like if I was speaking English without hesitating or thinking about tones..
Alcohol the new top learning tool :)

Dennis   November 22nd, 2011 5:47p.m.

I speak much better French when I'm drunk. I think part of it is because I don't care much about errors. I also think the barrage of drunken French helps to stop the listener from switching to English.
