unsharing shared mnemonics

jww1066   November 20th, 2011 11:18a.m.

I have been updating lots of my mnemonics recently and in many cases I want to convert shared mnemonics into unshared ones because I am adding tone mnemonics which nobody else will understand, and in some cases people might find them offensive.

Just now I was studying 收藏 and I updated my mnemonic, which was previously shared, and I marked it as unshared. However, when I click on See All, it now shows my updated mnemonic with two votes. This makes me concerned that the mnemonic might somehow still be shared, and that the new, personal mnemonic might be made public.

Edit: I just went to the Scratchpad and pulled up 收藏; the updated mnemonic still shows two votes.

Now here's a problem I would like to see unresolved:)

There's a character with a pretty brilliant but grossly disgusting mnemonic which actually has got a huge majority of the votes. Gotta love the double standards, hehe...

Your mnemonic is not shared, but anyone who had selected your old mnemonic from before still sees it. Not sure what the best way to handle that is.

When James updates his previously-shared mnemonic, do the users who use his mnemonic see the old version or the new version? If it's the old version, I don't think it's a problem, but if it's the new version, that might cause issues for some people, since they might remember something by one mnemonic only to have it changed on them.
