Language Learning Blogs

icebear   November 29th, 2011 1:40p.m.

Related to the current poll, what language learning blogs are people frequenting? I used to follow Sinosplice regularly, although I broke the habit some time ago when I took a several month hiatus from Chinese studies while I was traveling and never quite picked it up again.

What are you going to the blog for - shared experiences or tips on learning?

I'm curious what recommendations there are to see if any catch my fancy.

The only one I read is All Japanese All The Time: http://www.alljapaneseallthetime.com/blog/

All his blog says is to immerse yourself with the language your studying 100%, live it 100%, and you will learn it (really over-simplified). I don't read it often, but I do read it for motivation and a reminder to stay on track. If I ever feel my progress is slow, I read an article or two and remind myself why I'm still doing this.

I never liked Sinosplice at all, except for that one piece about language battles which was actually the best piece I've read anywhere on the Internet.

I like to read Chinesehacks.com once in a while

Shameless plug for my own site: http://eastasiastudent.net

:)

Kudos for http://eastasiastudent.net, fantastic content! I just wish you could add the traditional version of your examples, so far I have had to turn on my simp-trad plugin :P

Tortue, tell me how to order that t-shirt in your avatar.

Tortue   December 2nd, 2011 4:15a.m.

@Menglelan

Bought it in Hong Kong (Temple Street) not sure if you can order it. If I remember well, there is an URL written inside, I'll check for you later.

I would appreciate that. I'm always trying to find wacky tshirts written in Chinese for my kids.
