Where do words go if there is no Miscellaneous list?

Jas   December 21st, 2011 3:55p.m.

I renamed my Miscellaneous section to Supplementary as I did not realize there was a purpose to it. So when I started adding words from when I click on a multi-character word and it shows me which of the characters are not already in my list, it says it is adding it to my main list, which I have called 'Chinese', but I do not know where they are located.

Renaming it isn't a problem -- words should go to any list you choose. I don't add from there myself, so I'm not sure, but I presume a dialogue box pops up? Either you choose the list straight off, or more likely there's a 'wait' button you can hit, and then you can select a default list to add to. The latter is how quick add (shift-A) works.

To see your lists, go to the vocab lists page. Your lists are halfway down, although you might need to click on 'made by me' to see all of them, if the one you're looking for isn't there.

Thanks Byzanti for your response. A dialog box does appear and it says adding to list 'Chinese' which is the name of my entire list, not a section. It is only when I click the 'Wait' button that a dialog box of a list of sections appears for me to select. But when I first started doing it, I didn't realize that's what the wait button did, so I just let it add it to my entire list.

Don't worry about the sections - it will by default add to the last section/the end of the list.
