When doing reviews on the app, will I be able to do just one study part at at time? Such as only tone reviews, or just definition reviews, or just writing reviews ?

I think it's much better practice to divide it up that way, because if you get a writing prompt, and then draw out the character, you have plenty of time to recall the reading(tone). I like to make sure I can recall a character's reading quickly. It's also more efficient to only do one part at a time.

I have a feeling that this feature isn't available right now. Nick/George, do you guys think you can make this a option on the app?

Not currently.

The way the app works with regard to adding though is that it forces the various sides of the card to have minimum space between them. When I add a new word/character I'll first see its writing prompt, then definition 6-12 hours later, etc, to avoid seeing all the sides back to back. (Not sure about the exact time used for spacing.)

The order and pace in which cards' sides are automatically added (and spaced) will impact the spacing of their future reviews...

If the OPs goal is that cards' sides are not view back to back (i.e. the handwriting immediately preceding a tone test, which ruins the testing aspect) then this system may already satisfy his needs. I tend to Skritter twice a day, once at night and once in the morning, and since this forced-spacing system was implemented I tend not to see multiple sides of the same card in a single session. (As stated, I'm not sure what the algorithm is and thus it may be possible, but I haven't experienced it recent versions and I Skritter quite a bit).

I'm really glad that feature is included, it's one thing that sometimes makes me mark myself 'so-so' if I I've just seen the word. So having a few hours between will keep me on my toes! I get the idea that this will also meet the OP's needs.

If your concern is seeing the same word but for different parts shown close to one another, then you don't have to worry. The system automatically spaces items to be at least 12 hours from one another (unless you over practice way, way more than you should). The website tries to group related prompts when it can, like by first testing the writing and then the reading, but we decided to simplify. There's no such grouping on the app, only spacing.

If you just want to study one type of prompt at a time, so go through all your writing prompts, then all your tone prompts, or something like that, you'll be able to do it with the app but not conveniently. You know how you've got two ways to set parts being studied, with 'temporary parts study' and then parts set in the account study settings? The latter is easy to access in the app right now, but the former is not yet implemented. So you could turn off all other parts, turn off automatic adding, and study all of a certain part that way, just make sure you turn off automatic adding or you might not add the parts you want to.

Temporary parts study, we'd like to have in, but it's in the 'if we have time' category. We're trying to get the app out sooner rather than later so we can't guarantee it will make the cut in the end. But even if we don't get it out in version one, it shouldn't take us long to add it in later. That and single list study in particular, those two popular features will either be in the first version, or added very soon after.
