I stand corrected

I was forced to use the iOS app starting this week, after being told I could no longer use the Windows 8 machine in the training room. On the second day, I was surprised I was able to square away 230 reviews in less than 60 Skritter minutes and not many more minutes than that in real-time. I was even more surprised that I was able to get all the way down to 0 reviews almost every single day. It seems all aspects of learning are improved by being able to draw directly on the screen.

The only thing that is really missing right now is the example sentence functionality. And I still feel that the light theme is rather incoherent with its mix of different backgrounds and text cobbled together. The moments that I do stop is almost always due to some annoying user interface element that catches the eye. But I'm grateful for the fact that there is an app at all and that it is a very stable first version. Hats off to the Skritter team.

Good to hear! A couple questions:

1) what ios device are you using? iphone or ipad?

2) Are you using a stylus?

3) Now that you are accustomed to writing with the app at work, do you prefer to use it even when you are at home?

I found that after using the app for so many months, I use the website as a last resort for studying. I mostly go on here to manage lists and use the forum.

I use an iPad 2, and I've been wondering about the benefits of getting a stylus, because sometimes its a little uncomfortable to use my finger for long periods of time.

Can anyone comment on the benefits of styluses?

atdlouis   June 29th, 2012 11:39p.m.

I have a stylus. I don't use my finger because it does get uncomfortable. I am skrittering lately between 60 - 90 minutes a day. With the stylus there is no problem.

The only issue is the rubber tip drags on the glass somewhat. I add a dab of chapstick on the glass of my ipod touch so there is no friction, and I can skritter a lot faster.

Love the app and using it a lot.

Using a stylus with it slows me down way to much(on ipad or iphone).

Waiting on a couple of new stylus to try which are a lot more like wacom and pen tablet stylii

Unfortunately the collusion pen doesn't work with skritter(no third party app support)

I started using a stylus recently. I don't seem to find it uncomfortable using my finger but hoped it would make it more natural for when I need to hand write characters. I used it a bit but as somebody else says it was a bit slower and didn't really add much for me.

After using the app since its launch I havn't used the site, only come here as I prefer to read the forums here and find other lists.

Yes, need example sentences. Nick says their upgrading the system.

Sharing app needs to be adjusted so includes your personal referral link so that you benefit from referring.

1) iPhone 4.
2) Finger at first, but a stylus turned out to be much faster.
3) I skrittered only for a little while this morning. Then the iPhone's battery ran out. Unfortunately, I left the charger cable at work. I ordered an extra one for $1 from Hong Kong. Did not use the web app after that, but that was due to personal reasons. However, logic dictates that it will become increasingly more difficult to go back given the noticeable speed difference in getting through my reviews.
