IOS: Study only one list

MasterOfComboBoxes   July 1st, 2012 12:24a.m.

Hi guys,
Did I miss something or is there no way to study single lists in IOS?
I am restarting studies after quite a while and I would like to start catching up with a single list but not delete all the others.

Is this possible?

Thx Alex

Not possible yet. The feature is being worked on and will be included in future releases.

You can kind of work around this a bit for new characters by setting only one list to be adding in the web version, then go back to the app, but from the sounds of it you are reviewing already learned characters, in which case I don't think you can alter the settings until the update atdlouis mentions.

Will the future release with single lists also have scratchpad?

atdlouis   July 2nd, 2012 11:34p.m.

I think having scratchpad on the app exactly as it is on the website would be very awkward, because every time you use it you would have to enter a list of words to study. The app's interface would make that pretty difficult.

Several users previously suggested "studying starred words" to act as if it was being studied in scratchpad, and this seems to me to be the best solution. Currently when you study starred words, your progress is tallied, and the algorithm will push the words back or forward in your study. But people star words precisely because they want extra practice.

I was going to suggest retaining the word locally on the device, but that's just the same as making a temporary list (such as miscellaneous), and studying just that list, so neverminds...

Does the team have a timeframe for this? Or can you at least say how high on your to-do-list this ranks?

We're starting to work on it any day now. Until then, we're not sure how long it will take.
