I've noticed that Skritter gives a high "mark" to a word if you get it right the first time you see it (seems to not come up again for about 3 weeks). This is great for the cases where you are adding a word that you already know well.
However, sometimes I just recently learned a new word, possibly just an hour or a day before seeing it in Skritter for the first time,, so waiting 3 weeks to see it again is too long an interval. What I have been doing in these cases is grading all new characters/words as "so-so", if I remember them, so that I can start them off on a "normal" SRS ramp.
I was mainly curious to see what other Skritterers do in this case.
