Chinese Chinese dictionary on Web?

Sandeep   August 30th, 2012 5:26a.m.

What is the best Chinese-chinese dictionary for

a)Beginner like me with 1000 characters,1000 words
b)Intermediate 2000 chars 3000 words
c)Advanced user.

It should be free to use of course like MDBG.

Also is there a dictionary online like Tuttle Chinese learner with easy sample sentences for beginner?

I use zdic.net, but it doesn't have easy example sentences. For example sentences, searching the web or wikipedia normally works pretty well.

Microsoft also has this site:

http://dict.bing.com.cn/#%3Ahome

Which has lots of example sentences, see http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/projects/engkoo/ for background details.

Oh and nciku has a pretty good C-C dictionary, with example sentences.

Oh and sticking in e.g. "摆设的意思" for words that are not 100% obvious or have slang meanings often brings you to some native person who asked the question on 百度知道, e.g.

http://zhidao.baidu.com/question/55057807.html
http://zhidao.baidu.com/question/457302709.html

(click the links in yellow to see the answers, Baidu doesn't like deep links)
