No Sound iOS

Tammy   September 10th, 2012 5:46p.m.

Hi,

I've downloaded the iOS app onto my iPad2. I have not signed up for an account yet. I was trying out the walk-through using zhong1 wen2 as an example. There is no sound what so ever. My volume is turned up, the slide switch is set to rotate lock, not mute. The selective mute is not on. All the sounds in my other apps work. I've search the forum for help, but I just can't figure out why there is no sound.

I'm anxious to sign up, the app looks amazing, but it is really bugging me that I can't get the sound to work. Do I have to signup for the sound to work? Any suggestions?

Just to triple-check, if you double-press the home button to bring up the multi-tasking bar, then swipe left (on the multi-tasking bar) to show the media settings, does the speaker have a cross-line through it? If it does, you can click it to unmute.

Check that a couple of times. No mute when I swipe left on the multi-tasking bar. I've also restarted a couple of time. Deleted and reinstalled the app. Tried changing the slide switch from rotate lock to mute and back again. I don't know what else to try.

Hi Tammy,

We're tracking this bug where there's no sound sometimes, but we're not quite sure what's going on. It is possible that the sound will start working once you sign up for the free trial. If you try that, please let us know whether there's any difference afterward. Thanks for your help on this one!

That worked. I signed up for the trial. Then I logged on via the iPad app. The sound still wasn't working, but after a closing the app and restarting, it worked fine. Thanks!

I had the same issue two days ago. Restarted the ipad then no more problem.

I tried restarting the iPad a couple of times. I couldn't get the sound to work until I signed up for the free trial.

I loving Skritter now that the sound is working. It is really addictive and I think it may make all the difference in whether I can be truly successful in learning Mandarin. Definitely going to sign up, hopefullly for at least a year if I can't swing it financially.
