Can't use Skritter in Ubuntu

Schnabelhund   September 22nd, 2012 5:31a.m.

Hi,
I can't practice on my Ubuntu machine because I can't move the flashcards forward by clicking on the canvas. Can you resolve this problem?

纳达   September 22nd, 2012 10:22a.m.

Strange. Working fine on Ubuntu 11.10 with Firefox or Chrome.

wispfrog   September 22nd, 2012 10:28a.m.

12.04 works fine in firefox for me, though chrome seems to have taken up hanging on the 3 dots recently.

Works in Chrome, but still doesn't work in Firefox for me on Ubuntu 12.04 :(

Same problem here. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04, Firefox 15.0.1. Last week everything was okay. Now I have to click the right arrow under the canvas and I would say it is not very convenient.

Thanks for the debugging info; let's get to the bottom of this.

Do you see the custom cursors, default cursors, or no cursors?
What Flash version do you have?
What Firefox version?
If you view source on http://www.skritter.com/study/all -- do you see 10.2 or 10.1 when you search for min_flash_version?

var min_flash_version = "10.2";

Do either of these links perform differently?

http://www.skritter.com/study/all?ten_point_one=true
http://www.skritter.com/study/all?ten_point_one=false

kartoshin   September 23rd, 2012 1:31p.m.

After I wrote character, I have a standard cursor, when I click on canvas, the "right arrow" appears for a moment, nothing happens. If I click left button and hold it, the "right button" will be near the mouse pointer all the time.
Flash is 11.2 r202
Firefox is 15.0.1
var min_flash_version = "10.1";
Both these links perform identically.

Same as kartoshin!

nick   September 26th, 2012 2:48p.m.

Scott and I worked on this yesterday, and I think we have a fix. Try it out on beta.

Schnabelhund   September 26th, 2012 9:53p.m.

It works! Thanks.

kartoshin   September 28th, 2012 4:35a.m.

Hmmm, strange. Nothing changed for me.

nick   September 28th, 2012 4:53p.m.

kartoshin, are you definitely using the beta site?

Schnabelhund   September 29th, 2012 10:03a.m.

When will the stable version be fixed?

kartoshin   September 29th, 2012 1:24p.m.

nick, I'm really sorry - I thought you meant that you uploaded beta .swf.
Well, I tried beta.skritter.com and it works. Thank you.

nick   September 29th, 2012 7:00p.m.

Now that the fix is confirmed for you guys, I'll push the change stable--done. Thanks for reminding me, Schnabelhund.
