Textbook "Talking About Chinese Culture"

EJ   September 29th, 2012 2:14a.m.

I have just uploaded full vocabulary lists for "Talking About Chinese Culture" second edition, both volumes. It is located in the Lists Made by Others.
This is an intermediate/upper intermediate BLCU textbook, which discusses aspects of modern Chinese culture and customs, often in contrast to western customs. The general layout of a lesson is first a conversation about some aspect of Chinese culture and customs, followed by new words and them short articles from magazines and newspapers.
If you are looking for an intermediate/upper intermediate textbook, it is worth having a look at.
You can see sample pages of the first lesson in each volume here

Hi Learning Life

Sorry I am not in Beijing. I am in Sydney.

Is the book being used at BLCU?

I think it is a very good text, although it is a bit dated sometimes. Also 麦克尔 is sometimes more boorish that I think many Westerners would be. Having said that, I cringe at some things I have done in China, in light of what I know now thanks to the book.
