[Non-Skritter] Dropdown menus and right-click menus don't appear

Schnabelhund   October 17th, 2012 6:50a.m.

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with Firefox on Ubuntu 12.04. Sometimes drop-down menus and right-click menus stop working; including in the address bar and autocomplete.

The reason I bring this up in the Skritter forum is that this breakdown seems to be triggered by using Chinese/Japanese characters in Firefox, e.g. when I search for something in Google or Wikipedia, write messages in Japanese/Chinese etc. It doesn't always happen, though.

Has anybody had the same problem and knows how to fix this?

Edit: I could narrow down the cause a bit further. When I copy & paste a Chinese/Japanese keyword to Firefox, it doesn't happen. When I use SCIM for Japanese/Chinese input, it does.
