Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

java issues or dodgy computer?

I upgraded my version of java, now im having problems loading the brush pad

I also cant write a character in MDBG and select it.

is there problems with the latest version on java?

Skritter uses Flash, not Java, so that wouldn't be it on our site. MDBG does use Java for its handwriting lookup. You might try it in other browsers, too.
