According to my girlfriend it basically means f*** off westerner, not literally die, just an insult to foreigners.

Is it a verb or a noun ?

If it means "f--- off westerner" then it has both a verb and a noun in it. The westerner being the noun and the earlier bit the action directed at that noun.

I think here 死 means “damned”.

It could be a verbal phrase...or it could be a verb + object. Sorry I'm no linguist. However, I am leaning towards verb + object.

it's not a verb - the whole thing is a noun or an adjective (commonly used as a descriptive term) - I'd go with "damned foreigner" too, even though the literal word-by-word translation is 'die foreigner'.

in any case, it's not a nice thing to have said about you, so go right ahead and retort that 你的臉長得像馬 ;)
