Hey guys, this question probably has a really simple answer, but when I count up the words from Skritter's 101 list I get something like 324. I've finished that list and now also finished HSK 1. When I gander at my progress it says (in the total section) that there has only been 293 added.
Why the discrepancy? :)

Which progress stats are you looking at. Maybe that is the amount of individual characters you have learnt, whilst the larger number includes words which are a combination of those characters.
