app not syncing today

Bohan   February 6th, 2013 3:21p.m.

Anyone else having trouble syncing their IOS device today? Mine won't sync.

Bohan   February 6th, 2013 4:03p.m.

I just updated the app to the latest version. That didn't work. Then I cleared local data, and now it seems to be reloading all the data back on.

it looked like it was going to sync properly, but is started over again. My internet connection is pretty good

I had the same problem so I tried doing a soft reset and it worked.

How To Reset an iPod Touch
1.) Method 1 – Hold the hold button at the top of the iPod until the slide to power off screen appears. Slide your finger to power off the iPod. Then, hold the hold switch until the iPod turns back on and the Apple logo appears on the screen.

2.) Method 2 – Hold the Menu and Hold buttons at the same time until the iPod restarts and the Apple logo appears.

3.) Method 3 – If your iPod boots, go into the Settings and then General –> Reset. There you will find several settings to reset the iPod Touch.

Hi, same issue here: I am experiencing iOS sync problem (iPhone & iPad) since about 6 hours. Basically, the screen does not get further than the first initiate sync screen. Did also delete all local data, but does not help. Did work smoothly since app launch. Any server issues?

greenteapanda   February 6th, 2013 11:34p.m.

It was not working for me about half an hour ago, but working now. Same symptoms as above. So it seems there was either a network issue or a server issue.

syncing just fine!

It sounds like App Engine was having a bit of a fit, although I'm having a hard time tracking it down. Sorry about this! If we see it again, we can try to make our sync more robust to this sort of thing.

Bohan   February 7th, 2013 6:55p.m.

it took a while for me to reload all of the data, after clearing local data, but a couple of attempts it finally finished loading and now it syncs properly.

thanks

another issue I've had with the ipad mini that I didn't have with the itouch is having to frequently log-in when I want to sync. I never have to do this with the itouch, but I've had to do it twice in the last hour

I'm having real problems with this. It's trying to sync, but taking ages and ages (as in hours) to save, then gets to the end and starts again. I've tried resetting my ipod, but no joy.

I've lost studying time this morning where I thought I could use the app as I was mobile, and I'm not sure when I'm going to get it back. Nick, can you help? Please?

CC   February 9th, 2013 10:02a.m.

Ah! After a full ipod reset, I seem to have synced. Thanks Nick if you did something!
