Using 2 IOS devices, not syncing properly

Bohan   February 26th, 2013 11:18p.m.

This is the second time this happened.

Yesterday, I used my itouch to do writing reviews and my iPad mini to do tones/definitions. Today when I synced both devices multiple times , the writing items didn't go to the iPad mini, and there is a difference of about 300 writing items between the two devices.

Also, I remember reaching 2 hours of study last on my itouch , but the site's progress tracker says I only did about 90 minutes .

Hmm--you say that this is the second time you've seen this problem. Have you done the same thing before and had it work properly?

Bohan   February 27th, 2013 10:18p.m.

yeah, the last time it wasn't ever resolved and the two devices weren't on the same page anymore for # of reviews due. What ended up happening, though, is the gap started to narrow down. I was using both devices for all study parts.

Anyway, this was the second time. Last time, my time zone was set for China, but I was in the US. This time my time zone was set in China, and I'm in China.

*just now when I said I was using both devices, I meant I would use one for a few hours and then sync both devices and then use the other, and repeat. Or I would use one device for writing items and the other device for other parts, and then sync both devices

I just went to "compare with server" and I'm waiting for it. Does this do anything to help ?

Bohan   February 28th, 2013 12:22a.m.

Okay, it said "mismatch" for everything except for "items".

Is there a way to force match the app to the server ? I tried clicking on one of the mismatched things, such as progress, but nothing seemed to happen.

FWIW I've always used iOS Skritter on two devices, and there has always been some degree of mismatch, but it's within reason and not bothersome.

Filed a bug separately yesterday, since for the last several days I've also been having problems syncing whichever device I haven't used recently. But symptom is losing connection, failing to sync, being stuck at message: Sync: Counting 0/0 for 2 or 3 minutes.
