This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

lol @ video ... I knew a few but I had no idea about the cousin's wives and so forth.

Also Congrats Nick - thats fantastic. If it's anything like my Shanghai wedding though then they'll all just chat in Shanghainese and the furious effort you put into learning Mandarin in the lead up won't even be noticed (thankfully - I was actually rather relieved to tell the truth).

I know enough Shanghainese to know when they're talking about me, ask where we're going, interpret roughly half of the times and numbers said, exclaim how tasty food is, etc., but yeah: any oblivion breaks will be welcomed. Last time I was there, though, my Mandarin was severely tested.
