Skritter on Android

Sandpiper   April 8th, 2013 4:40a.m.

Before I signed up with Skritter, I read a lot of comments about how it would not run on Android. I tried the desktop version, that did not work for me, in the preview. Issues were trying to write with a mouse, and my OS being Linux.

But I signed up anyway, hoping to find a working solution. Now I am using Skritter on a Samsung Galaxy Note II. It is not perfect, but works well enough for me, and I can't imagine any desktop method with a mouse could be this good. Writing the characters with a stylus is great! Running on Jelly Bean. Maybe I did a separate install of Flash, I don't remember.

On the PC, most people use a Wacom Tablet or similar as an input device for Skritter.

I use a writing tablet for a lot of my study but I find it to be the most tiring. Sitting down and writing hundreds of characters with a pen makes me physically tired the quickest.

Once your hand is hurting a bit you begin to lose focus on characters.

Writing with you finger "in the sand" is a very comfortable way to write after an hour or so of scratching on the Wacom.

It's a shame the developers have no plan to bring this to the Android community.
