This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

秘书 - bug

There is a bug on mi4shu1 (shu should be 1st tone).. this occurs on the pinyin typing section.

The ABC dictionary gives it as neutral tone if you're talking about a secretary (and first tone if you're talking about a secret book). All other dictionaries I checked give it as first tone. But if you search baidu zhidao then you find someone else saying it's neutral tone, so perhaps it isn't just a typo in the ABC dictionary.

Someone with more expertise needs to weigh in.

Sounds confusing... MDBG, gives secretary as mi4shu1. Like you say, we need more expertise...anyone?

I can't recall with 100% certainty, but I feel I've always seen it listed as the 1st tone. Secretary and secret book? Indeed it does sound confusing. Now I'm wondering if a secret book is a book that's kept hidden or one that contains secrets.

In instances like this, the trump card is usually the authoritative Mainland《现代汉语规范词典》, which shows 秘书 pronounced mi4shu1, with no note of neutral tone. However, ABC/Wenlin are also quite reliable, so I'll just allow for both pronunciations.
