Is there an easy way to set an entire list to just be tested in select categories?

I know I could accomplish this by banning the categories of words I don't want, but when a list is very long this seems very time consuming.

Ex. I want my textbook 2 list to just review me on tones and definitions. While my textbook 3 list is entirely being tested.

I think this desire is likely beyond the current capabilities, but perhaps a way to qualify testing by 'learned', 'reviewing' or 'new'?

Ex. I want to only be tested on tones on the words of a list that I am reviewing from a list, but be tested on everything that is newly added.


I'm sorry if these capabilities are hidden, I'm not really sure where to look or if its possible. I mostly just use the iPad app. (Wish there was landscape : ()

Tmjmt, I do this on the web app, not on the iOS. On the "Study Page", I open the list which I want to review, then open the section and click "Study" on the top of this section.
Then the "Study" page opens, on the right top corner, just go to settings and chose, what you want to study.
I didn't find a way to do the same on the iOS app, but for me it's OK to do a quick review in the web app instead.

For now, you can't study different parts for different lists at the same time, but you can do temporary parts reviews on either web or iOS for a particular list, then switch to doing everything for your other list.

It's on our list to make the parts and style study settings apply to particular lists, which would do what you want, but we haven't gotten to it yet.

Is there anyway to select, say, 2 or3 lists for review. I found after a break that there were too many words in total to catch up on so I select one list only, which I feel helps me catch up quicker (with my aging brain) but I would like to tell Skritter just to test me on, say, both HSK 1&2.

The iOS app has this, because we can index the data more efficiently when it's all on the local device, but it's not feasible on the web version. Sorry! A couple workarounds: you could study a single list on each of the lists in turn, or you could make a mega-list that had both HSK 1 and 2 in it and single-list study that.

Thanks Nick, yes what I do is study each in turn - which isn't a major problem. I just thought I might have missed something.
