iOS erase stroke

Does the erase stroke have to be strictly vertical?

It usually takes me a few upstrokes to get the Skritter sheet to reset to blank.

Sometimes the iOS erase stroke erases when I didn't want it to. That was when I did a horizontal stroke though (I think), I'll try and pay more attention next time an unwanted erasing happens as to which direction I was stroking...

You can try a two finger tap on the writing area to erase as well. Maybe that will take the reset a little easier for you?

jeffwong, if you could describe a bit more about what you're doing when it doesn't register, I might be able to tweak it. Right now I can't reproduce it. You do have to start the erase stroke in the bottom middle of the screen, then aim sort of upward (and go far enough).

I think the issue is the upstroke needs to be perfectly straight. When I'm flicking up, my finger tends to hit the screen and then bend a bit to the right side (i'm right handed).

Mildly frustrating, since I try to erase whenever I finish and need to redo the strokes in the correct order.

Also, going back doesn't work very well since hitting the left side outside of the drawing area causes an ink stroke.
