Not a language-learning question specifically, but a topic I think many of us will care about nonetheless. I was wondering if some of you might be willing to post audiobooks that have good Chinese pronunciation for names and the like. I find that butchered Chinese pronunciation absolutely ruins the experience of audiobooks. I don't need the pronunciation perfect, but my goodness why can't people learn that "x" is pronounced "sh" and not "k"? These are professional readers here.
Anyway, here's my list so far:
Good:
- Simon Vance in China Road
- Angela Lin in Pearl of China
Simply Terrible:
- Joy Osmanski in Wild Swans
- Peter Berkrot in Peter Hessler's Books
- Susan Ericksen in Factory Girls
Any others?
