Ability to actually write characters- like with a stylus

Hey,

This looks like an awesome program! I really want to forward it to my old Chinese department and a bunch of friends in China. I'm curious though if there's anyway to do this without a mouse in hand?

Iphone app? Ipad app?

Good work changing the world,

George

The iPhone/iPad don't support Flash, so it's unlikely they'll support Skritter any time soon. Android is supposed to support Flash sometime this year, so that's much more of a possibility.

As for an alternative to a mouse, I assume you saw http://www.skritter.com/wacoms ?

Wacoms are fantastic.

I bought the Wacom Bamboo fun here at the Skritter Wacom store and it is awesome! I can use it for other things like marking up docs, touching up photos etc., ...but the most fun is Skritter :) !

I was reading the post in the topic about really writing Chinese characters - like with a pen, and had not seen the reference mentioned by jww1066.

When I click on the link, I am sent to site to sign up, but I want to see what's in the link before I sign up. Can you help me.

That's just a link to a small Skritter shop with Wacom tablets, eg these things:

We aren't allowed to advertise these prices, so that's why you have to have an account to see it--sorry!

Maybe we should just make it so that you can see the page but not the prices if you're not logged in.

I would say that one should have a tablet to get the optimal experience out of Skritter, but I think that would be quite an understatement. I would not even use Skritter if I did not have my Wacom tablet, which I bought for the express purpose of using Skritter.

Agree. I'd use pen and paper if not for a wacom.

On the other hand, you could just get one of THESE -

It's been an amazing experience today... just in a few hours I have become Scritter-obsessed... and watching my character strokes morph under my fingers :P
My handwriting still looks atrocious when I try to use some real paper, but I think the direct link between pen and image is fighting atrociousness faster :P
