App Feature Request: Side Swipe

leilei   July 19th, 2013 6:20p.m.

Hi guys, I've been putting more time in on the app in the last couple of days, and I keep finding myself trying to move backwards or forwards between characters by swiping the screen. I think this feels a little more natural, and it can take a while to hit the find/hit the little arrow button.

Thanks a lot, love the app c;

but won't these get confused with character writing strokes - left to right and right to left are used in correct stroke orders - down to up is not used for stroke order (or I can't remember any) but already used for clear screen

I guess I meant in the case of completed characters for the most part, I like to go back and compare or add mnemonics, but maybe you're right it could be impractical ;^;

You could do a swipe with two fingers, so Skritter wouldn't take it as a character writing maybe?

can't say I have ever needed this.. using an iphone4 it seems fine as it is

We implemented the side-swipe-when-you-can't-actually-write feature (and I think we tried the two-finger swipe) when we were originally developing the app, but our beta users kept getting confused by having multiple ways to go back and forth depending on the context of whether you could write at the time or not, so we simplified and made it consistent, if not as natural for iOS devices. Hope this makes sense.
