Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

5/20/10: 15 Minute Downtime

scott   May 18th, 2010 12:13p.m.

FYI:

Our server which the domain www.skritter.com is pointed to is scheduled for maintenance on Thursday, May 20, 2010 between 22:00 and 23:00 EST (Friday, May 21, 2010 between 02:00 and 03:00 UTC). The maintenance should go on no longer than 15 minutes.

www.skritter.cn will still be available.

An email notification or a blog posting would have been nice.

I didn't know about scheduled maintenance, and unfortunately the maintenance included the forums. I was still able to get at the blogs via cached google links for some reason.

Hmm, it's tough to decide what's the best way. We want to keep direct emailings to users to a minimum, and a 15 minute downtime seemed a bit trivial for such a mass mailing...

The blog is hosted separately but the domain blog.skritter.com goes through that maintenanced server too. Perhaps you used the domain that points directly at the blogger server at blog2.skritter.com.
