Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

problems doing initial sync on new device

I'm trying to do the initial sync on my new 4th generation iphone, but it doesn't seem to be working.

It looks like it's working fine, but it can't seem to finish the "assembling stage" of the sync. It looks like it's about to finish and then restarts the from the beginning of the assembling stage after a couple of minutes

I did sent you an email about this, but just in case you see this first, you may want to try deleting the app and reinstalling it (if you haven't already).

I had this problem too except mine just stopped and said there was a syncing error. I tried waiting and closing/re-opening the app. I also tried it on both LTE and Wi-Fi. This went on for a couple days. Nothing worked. Re-installed and tried again for a couple days. Still didn't work. I re-installed it yet again and it worked.

Bohan, I sent you a TestFlight invite to try a fix for this, so register your device if you want to try that. If anyone else just can't get the app to sync (especially for a large account), we can try the same thing--just let me know.

Andreas, if it's just been today, then it's probably due to a temporary problem with App Engine quotas and a stray backup job, and it will likely start working again tomorrow.

If it's been longer than one day and/or doesn't work tomorrow, then shoot an email to nick@skritter.com and I'll get you on the beta list to try to fix it.
