iOS: definitions not shown

nomadwolf   August 5th, 2013 1:28a.m.

For some words on iOS, the definition is not shown or cut-off.

for 長途電話, it is completely missing, but some longer words I've seen it cut off. I assume because it is wrapping to the next line, but that part is overwritten by the example sentence.

Very difficult for the writing prompts when you need the definition!

I think this happens when the word, example sentence, and definition are on the longer side. I've noticed this as well with some Japanese words. Does editing the definition so that it's shorter (if possible) make the definition font larger?

If you tap the top area, you should be able to see the full definition.

Byzanti, that's an OK temporary method (except that I'll then see the mnemonic for the 1st character, which I don't want), but the actual bug should be sorted out, preferably by hiding the example sentence when needed.

Agreed!

I know the bug and why it happens; I'll have it fixed in the next iOS app version, which should be out in the first or second week of September if all goes well. Sorry about this one!

Thanks for the quick update!
