iOS7 -> flat skritter Icon?

dc1   August 21st, 2013 3:51a.m.

With iOS 7 beeing released around November 20th the UI will be very flat. All standard iOS icons will be flattened, I expect most third party apps to adopt the new flat style, too.

So how about skitter? New app icon for ios7 incoming? The current icon will look out of place with the new iOS design.

For example just a red or black 書 on a white Background would be enough

We're not planning on updating the app icon. Having been using the iOS 7 beta for a couple months, I personally don't like the new app icons (although I do like the rest of the design and am updating certain parts of the app to use it right now).

If almost all third-party apps followed Apple's example and we looked out of place, we'd consider updating the icon. I'm not sure that's going to happen, though.

After these weeks since the release of iOS7, I do have to agree that the Skritter icon now looks way too noisy and out of the place among all other current iOS styled icons. Even Pleco now looks nice. The trick is to simplify the Skritter icon, lose some of the details and 3D, and go for a stylized look. Thanks. :-)
