What am I supposed to do? I'm using the iPad version. I'm basically just scribbling with my stylus until it gives me a stroke to write.. seems like there should be a give up button.

Double click on the screen to get the whole character and it will also be marked as wrong. That is equivalent to give up. I usually then erase (swipe up) and write it again 2-3 times. That is very individual if that is needed or not but suits my needs. It will come back again in a few minutes and they you can write it again and hopefully have it correct.

I'll try that. Thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for.

I also look at the small info button in the upper right corner. That allows me to see what radicals the character is composed of and make up my own memo story. I only do that if the character is proving hard to memorize.
