Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

Ghost Noises?

This is something that I’ve noticed before. Every now and then, when I first go to the practice page, I hear some words being read. There’s about 5-10 seconds while the page is loading where random words are being read over each other.

It’s no big deal, I just wanted to know if anyone else has ever experienced this too.

Yes, it is "normal", its a programming workaround that has been noted before. I generated my own thread on this ("I hear voices" )and found that it had been discussed before. No need for alarm.
