yesterday I found a free plugin which trains your chinese language skills by translating random words into chinese characters while you're surfing.
Its translation engine is not the best but I think the idea of this plugin is great.

You can either select simplified or traditional Chinese as a target language.

Unfortunately it doesn't work on Facebook.
But it does work on skritter forum and many other sites.

BTW, in combination with Chrome-Plugin named "Zhongwen Chinese Popup Dictionary" it's more effective!

Brilliant. I'm using it for Portuguese and it's converted my normal news reading into passive reading study. Excellent.

Actually it is working on Facebook for me.

It is quite good but does do some silly things, such as: "Ayub Tareen was said to be "safe 和井“ after the explosion." Yes. "Safe and well" :-P

Also there's something really funny about "Unfortunately it 不 work on Facebook. "

Yes, as I said it's not the best engine ->Google Translate. A better engine would be from nciku or from mdbg.
