Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

Skritter not loading

For two days now I've fired up Skritter and I just get the progress dots when trying to study. They stay there permanently.

The lack of anyone else saying something opens the door to this being a local issue but I can't think what, I've not changed a thing.

I tried studying an individual list and that does the same.

That happens to me almost every time I go on. Hit the refresh button. If that doesn't work, log out then log back in.

No dice. I tried it in Firefox 4 beta and it worked... so I went to Chrome and wiped all my cached data (hardly ideal) and suddenly it works.

This isn't the first time stuff has been fixed in Chrome by doing this. Unfortunately Chrome is hands down the fastest Flash platform I've used.

Hmm, so it's related to the cache? Those bugs are no fun at all to debug! We've never experienced what you describe ourselves, I think. Maybe we'll have to look back into how the caching works and tweak it.

If you get the problem again, could you let us know if there are an Javascript errors? What browser are you using icecream?

Chrome 9.0.597.19, basically the latest.

I'll take a closer look when/if it breaks again.

I think I have the same issue now. Can I be of any help? I can hold this session (say) for a day :)

breakphreak   January 15th, 2011 2:55p.m.

I won't log-in in the coming 24 (or a bit more even) hours. My home comp will be left as is. I won't be at home though. So, you can debug as/if you like.

breakphreak   January 15th, 2011 2:56p.m.

PS: I meant "I won't logout from this comp and won't login from any other comp". huh.. any chance to have the "edit" option in this forum at least for 10 minutes since the publication please?

breakphreak   January 15th, 2011 5:07p.m.

P.P.S: it "stucked" at the display where I need to select tones. I've tried to draw them and 3 points were showing (usually means "loading the next data" or so). When I've used the tone buttons to select the tone - I could easily move on. Succeeded to reproduce it several times: sometimes I can move on from the tone selection screen by using the buttons but not by drawing the tone. The tone is being drawn but it is not processed.

breakphreak, right now we're experience general serving issues like described in this thread, not anything specific to Chrome, unfortunately:

Edit functionality is on the to-do list, ya.
