Nuking my Chinese didn't nuke my Chinese?

levitooker   January 4th, 2011 12:02a.m.

I want to start over with a clean slate, but after nuking it my progress still says I'm at nearly 700 characters, even though "My Words" says I have none. When I try to study "new" characters that I had known before, it doesn't say +1 Character at the top. What's going on?

Byzanti   January 4th, 2011 8:30a.m.

That will only come up if you've successfully repeated it after 12 hours. Also make sure the text/sound option is enabled, and didn't disable or something after the nuke.

No, I've actually had the same issue. Words/chars add immediately when you get them right the first time, but items that I had put in before don't get added, and my number of characters learned hasn't changed since before the nuke.

I just hope the Skritter gods aren’t mighty enough to nuke my memory if I accidentally press the wrong button.

After nuking, you should have no progress left, no words left, no lists actively being studied. It should all be gone.

I think there's something wrong with it if it isn't getting completed. When you guys nuke your accounts, what does the page look like when it's done? The process should be, you press the button, the page deletes your data, then it should say 'Done' when it is finished.

I'm going to add a couple things to try and make sure that it's working the way it should.

levitooker   January 6th, 2011 2:55p.m.

Yup, it says "Done" (just tried it again):

But afterwards my progress is still there:

Did you create custom lists and/or starred words ? the screen print in your link tells they are not deleted. I think it's worth checking unless the Skritter guys already confirmed you're facing an "IT issue".

scott   January 6th, 2011 6:26p.m.

Ah whoops! I looked at the source code and yeah, it wasn't doing it the right way, don't know how I missed that before. That's actually been in there since the alpha changes.

I've fixed it now, so deleting should actually delete everything now. My mistake!

levitooker   January 7th, 2011 12:19a.m.

Everything's good now! Thanks!
