iPad 1st Generation

Nathan D   December 27th, 2013 5:15p.m.

I have a first generation iPad that cannot upgrade to iOS 7 and won't let me install the most recent ersion of Skritter (2.4). I've heard that Skritter 2.2 should work on iPads running iOS 5.1, and I understand that Apple won't let you upload older versions to the iTunes store, but is there a way I could get a copy of an earlier version of Skritter that would work on iOS 5.1? Thanks!

there's a thread in the forum where people (including myself) complained about the fact that you have to have iOS 7 for the latest version. Find that.

Either there's a link in there to a version that still works with the older versions of iOS or Nick has to send it to you via email. Either way, you should be able to get it working.

Yeah, give me your email and I'll add you to the TestFlight I use for this (although I don't send out the old version very frequently as it's kind of a pain).

No need for test flight. Running skritter off an iPad 1st gen, on iOS 5. Only installed it last month. Tried installing it from the iPad instead of iTunes?

If you install it from your device it'll moan you can't download the latest version and ask if you want the latest compatible version instead. At least it did with me!
