Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

Is the male voice new?

I just heard a male voice reading one of the words--is that new? Were they all female before?

Yep-- the male voice recordings are part of the latest update! They were added to many commonly-studied words that previously lacked audio.

Actually it's the best sounding voice of all! The guy sounds really cool :)

I don't like the other female voice you added, as her pronounciation of "zh" does sound more like sh. Don't remember the words but there were definetely a few.
