New HSK scoring

xiaoli   April 11th, 2011 3:09p.m.

Hi there,

I am thinking of taking the new HSK 3 test, but am confused about how it is scored. I know that the paper is out of a total of 300, and that each section counts for 100, so if I got say 30 out of 40 on the listening, would that then equal 75 points? and then each percentage is added up to make the overall score out of 300? or does it not work like that at all, and some questions are worth more than others...?

Any advice would be most welcome!

As far as I know, there are 40 questions for listening, 30 for reading and 10 for writing, which gives a total of 80 questions.

Each of this parts has a total score of 100, and toghether make the overall score of 300. This probably means that the writting questions are the "worthiest" (good thing you use skritter), and the listening ones give you the least points each.

As long as you get 180 points out of the 300, you'll pass.

Good luck in the exam!

Thats right, on the certificate they give you your 3 percentages for each section and then a number out of 300 for the overall score.
